Of course Pete Hannah Arena would be the best if it were open but these are just the ones currently being used.

As much as I like our wooden ceiling, the place is in desperate need of a facelift.
While I haven't seen all these gyms, I have sought out pictures and heard the opinion of another who has seen them all. For that reason, I voted for the Show-Me Center.

Semo's Show-Me Center, for those who have never seen it...one level behind each basket, 2 levels on the sides, enclosed, all chairbacks - no bleachers. Student seating is behind basket on right side of picture, overflow students behind other basket. Martin's Elam Center.... EIU's Lantz Arena...the seats on the sides roll out - about 8 rows? No seats behind the goal at the lower level, upper level seats behind one goal.

JSU's Mathews Arena...never been there, but it looks like bleachers on the ends, chairbacks on the sides. With no disrespect meant to our JSU buddies, not very impressive.
edit: couldn't get the picture or link to work. Sorry.

One thing I do like about Johnson Arena is how it feels kind of classic when you're inside it. Not sure why that is.

It's the bleachers and the pop corn smell that doesn't go away ;D.
Add that to the fact it's only full for the 16th Region Tournament and it kinda feels older than 25 years.

I'll tell you what. Despite the fact that I hate the Upper Deck behind the baskets being ten feet behind the rail at Murray and so far away from the court, I do think they have the best facility, with the SMC a close second. The only thing that really hurts the SMC is that it hasn't been retrofitted to today's standards, and is getting close to looking old. We need a better scoreboard. Plus it kind of is a tight fitting arena. The SMC with a little upgrades would be incredible. It still is very nice, but I give a slight edge to the RSEC.
