My heart says Morehead, but my head says Peay with what they have coming back. I think almost every team in the league will be tough this year and it should be a lot of fun. Good luck to all.

I'm going with Peay or Tech... that sounds like a safe pick, right..if you pin me down, I'm picking Peay, because Tech will choke it away.. (where is ENR?)

Last year AP won the regular season mainly because they have a very good coach and a system that's been in place for 20 years. As for talent I feel they were only about the 4th or 5th best in the league. But talent alone doesn't win games. EKU was in the second year with a head coach and new system. You could tell they got a lot more comfortable with their system in the second half of the season and went on to win the OVC tourney. I look for both of those schools to be very solid. Tenn. Tech. has plenty of talent but have been under achieving the last few years. Tenn. St. has plenty of talent AGAIN but for whatever reason they are by far the biggest under achievers in the conference every year. After awhile I have to start putting the blame on the coach. I look for the most improvement to come from Murray St. and SEMO. They both added talent and depth to already talented teams. Both teams are in the second year with new coaches and systems. That is historicly when teams make their biggest improvements just as EKU did last year. Of course all of the above depends on everyone staying healthy. I believe the winner this year could easily have 5 or 6 losses. I think all of the above teams EXCEPT Tenn. St. will compete for the title.

I actually disagree and think TTU OVERachieved some of the past few years. I don't see how people think they may win the title or even finish 2nd. I don't see it, but maybe I'm just the classic pessimistic TTU fan. They always recruit a bunch of guards and don't play half of them. Anytime they face a team with a halfway decent big man, or a solid zone defense, they're done. Try to run with TTU and they have good chance of winning.

ttueagles: By under achieving I ment in comparison to their talent. Last year they easily had the best backcourt in the OVC with Rivers and Fisher. The OVC is primarily a guard driven league. You have plenty of talent on your team the secret for TTU, Murray, and SEMO is for the coaches to get all that talent to play togeather in a system the way EKU and AP do. Those two teams just don't make many mistakes.
Don't worry about being a pessimist. SEMO is full of them. We could sign the second coming of Jordon and people here would be finding all kinds of reasons why he was going to fail. The main reason I'm more of an optimist is I see our players in practice a lot and can see how good they can really be if they will just get their mistakes corrected.
